Former N.B. Resident has 93rd Birthday

Thomas Howe

Thomas Howe who is celebrating his 93rd birthday is a former resident of New Brunswick and is now residing at Danforth, Me., with his daughter and brother, Newton, who is in his 84th year.

Mr Howe was born in Victoria Settlement, Sunbury Co. in 1860. He left home as a young man for Bangor, where he worked in the woods for a time, after which he returned to North Lake, where he met the former Miss Ida Howe. They were married and lived a short time at North Lake and then moved to Danforth, Me. where he and his brother, Newton bought a farm and carried on farming until 1950, when they retired.

Mr Howe's wife predeceased him in 1940. Mr Howe was the son of the late William and Marry Ann Harper Howe, and a grandson of the late Colonel and Mrs. Howe, who was born in Scotland and came to this country as an officer in the British Army. Mr Howe was the age of 16 when his father was drowned in the Kennebecasis River near Norton in 1876.

His children are Stanley Howe, Geary; Manzer Howe, Fredericton Junction; Mrs Fred Boon, Geary; Mrs. John Harper, Geary and Mrs. Wesley Maxwell, Saint John.
